Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American actress and model who is also a TV hostess as well as a comedian. The contest ended in second place becoming the youngest finalist in the show's history. Angelica Hale became very sick in 2012, when she was barely 4 years of age. She was diagnosed with double pneumonia caused by an aggressive S. pneumoniae bacteria infection. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was able to place her on ECMO assistance for lifesaving treatments. Her condition was a result of various organ malfunctions, which included failure of her kidneys. It was her new normal to have not peritoneal but the hemodialysis. After an eighteen-day stay in the hospital, Angelica was almost dead and then on a road of recovery. Angelica, after a one-year dialysis treatment and a half year of treatment, was ready for her biggest operation of all: the replacement of her kidney. Angelica would be receiving the donated kidney from her mom. Angelica Hale was able to undergo a kidney transplant together with her mother on 13th of September 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always thought of becoming an actor and singer she is still working toward this dream.
